Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative is seeking a well-qualified, self-motivated person for the position of Chief Financial Officer. The position reports to the CEO and provides a great opportunity for professional growth and opportunity. The qualified candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration. The position can be structured such that it is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned financial candidate or candidate with less experience that can grow into the position.
The Cooperative has approximately 12,600 meters, total utility plant of $63 million. The Cooperative uses the NISC iVUE system and is in the process of upgrading its meter reading system to the TWACS power line carrier system. Reporting to this position are the accounting, billing, and credit departments and other consumer service representatives. Responsibilities also include overseeing payroll and human resources.
Some other areas of responsibilities may include:
Financial statement review & analysis
Financial studies & cost analysis
Rate development for LED lights
Capital credit allocation and retirement
Oversee annual financial audit
Ensure proper accounting controls are in place and effective
Overseeing the automated payment processing of phone payments & E-billing
Provide backup assistance to the payroll department
Annual tax return
Working with RUS, CFC, and CoBank
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot various situations, along with the ability to pay attention to detail while understanding the overall picture.
