In a highly collaborative environment, the CFO manages and has input into strategic financial decisions as well as interacts with employees to explain and manage company sponsored employee benefits. This role covers a broad range of responsibilities and requires effective communication with all levels in the company.
HOW YOU'LL SERVE OUR COMPANY:
Analyze and review financial statements with the President and CEO providing evaluative and action-oriented counsel
Responsible for adhering to and developing strong accounting practices and internal controls; maintain compliance and interpret and implement pronouncements as directed by the parent company
As the Corporate Secretary, participate as a key member of the senior leadership team in addition to offering financial input and insight into decisions that affect the business
Analyze and approve all corporate operating budgets, capital expenditures, inventory investments, and credit policies.
Work collaboratively to effectively complete month- and year-end close
Handle all risk management functions for the organization
Manage all employee benefit plans including 401k, Pension, group health and dental, short- and long-term disability and life insurance
Act as point of contact for employee questions related to company sponsored benefit plans
Participates in all union negotiations
Manage a team of employees including financial, credit and collections and human resources functions
WHAT WE ASK FOR:
5-7 years senior level financial management experience including experience managing strategic initiatives
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred; CPA required
Proven experience combining strategic roles and hands on financial roles
Experience managing insurance, benefits and risk management functions
Exposure to and experience in a union environment
Strong supervisory experience including experience supervising finance, credit and collections and human resources personnel
Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory knowledge; ability to implement and adhere to standards and changes
