The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all aspects of Arcadia’s financial resources while ensuring absolute institutional integrity on fiscal matters and promoting best practices in finance and administration. Reporting to the President, the CFO works collaboratively with Cabinet members, the Board of Trustees, and other campus leadership in providing strategic advice and recommending and implementing financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs, and practices that ensure a sound financial structure for the institution. The CFO keeps the President and Board of Trustees informed about Arcadia’s current financial position and works with Arcadia auditors and the Controller to ensure that effective accounting controls are in place, that the university complies with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, and that collaborative relationships are maintained. The CFO collaborates with the Associate Vice President for Human Resources on benefits-related matters, with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Students Affairs on financial aid planning and monitoring, and the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations on gifts. The CFO’s entire staff portfolio includes 96 people, and the CFO’s direct reports are Associate Vice President, Human Resources; Director, Institutional Planning & Budget; Associate Vice President, Facilities Management; Director, Public Safety; Director, Internal Audit, Controller; and Director, Auxiliary Services. In addition, the budget officers of each academic unit will report to the CFO on a dotted-line basis. In light of its size and complexity, The College of Global Studies is an important enterprise that will require the CFO’s engagement.
