NOW CFO’s client, a privately-held recruiting/SAAS company, is looking for Chief Financial Officer and Controller-level individuals for its Marina Del Rey, CA office. Our client offers staffing/recruitment software solutions to various industries including Banking, Engineering, Technology and Life Sciences and is experiencing strong annual growth. The Chief Financial Officer will provide reliable and timely financial statements, and other metrics that meet the needs of the management team. The Controller will be responsible for preparation of all financial reports, cash management, continuous improvement in accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring that results comply with GAAP. The ideal candidates for both the CFO and controller positions should have strong foundations in accounting practices and financial management in business service/SAAS sector. Both candidates should have a strong track record of success in leading the accounting function and have strong communication skills. For Controller-level position:
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, and GL
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers; assist in collections process
Assist with cash management and budgeting process
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of financial reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance as necessary
Manage month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Additional controller duties as necessary
For CFO-level position:
Oversee and review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, journal entries review, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Produce timely financial reports (financial statements, trends, and other performance reports) as requested.
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
Drives the annual budget/business plan process and monitor that costs are in alignment with company’s strategic plan. Prepares periodic forward- looking business forecasts and financial models that provide insight to the company’s operations, cash flow, and financial position.
Manages key external financial relationships, including those with auditors, lenders, bankers and state and federal regulators, as applicable.
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
Minimum five(5) years experience as a controller or CFO in the business service sector and/or experience at a SAAS company (required).
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and related procedures, particularly with regards to software
CPA with Big 4 experience preferred
